Winner of the 3rd season of The X Factor in 2006, British pop princess Leona Lewis has been praised for her elegant, yet powerful vocals. Initially trained in opera, Lewis later went on to sing jazz, blues, and eventually pop music. Her song “Bleeding Love” was the best selling single worldwide of 2008.
Leona has been a vegetarian since the age of 12. “I don’t eat meat or any fish, and I do try to be a vegan at least once a week where I don’t drink milk or eat cheese or eggs.” In 2008, Lewis respectfully turned down the offer to open the infamous Harrod's sales based on the store’s sale of fur and her strong belief in animal rights.
"I am vegetarian so I don't have clothes, shoes or bags made from leather or suede or any animal products. I'm on a mission," she says. She is now developing a vegan clothing line, which will use alternatives to animal products.
